1. Introduction
Mappin is an asset mapping, management and reporting platform designed to collect, store and manage operational, audit and infrastructure information. By accessing or using Mappin, you agree to these Terms.
2. Ownership
Mappin is developed and operated by Steve Basson under the Mappin Systems developer identity. Use by customers, partners or organisations does not transfer ownership of the Mappin software or intellectual property unless explicitly agreed in writing.
3. Use of Mappin
You agree to use Mappin for lawful purposes, in a manner consistent with its intended mapping and management functions, and without attempting to interfere with the platform or other users' data. You are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of information you enter.
4. User-generated content
Mappin allows users to create and store content such as location data, photographs, notes, asset records, audit information and operational data. You retain responsibility for the content you upload or capture and for ensuring you have authority to use it.
5. Data storage and availability
Mappin uses on-device storage and cloud-based services, including Firebase / Google Cloud services, for supported functionality. Reasonable efforts are made to provide reliable service, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed. Users should maintain exports or backups where appropriate.
6. Verification of mapped information
Mapped field information, reports and photographs are tools for operational and asset-management use. Users must verify information before relying on it for design, procurement, construction, safety-critical or contractual decisions.
7. Paid and access-controlled features
Certain Mappin functions may be subject to Pro access, subscriptions, licence terms or other access controls. Applicable pricing, limits and entitlements may change over time and will be communicated through the relevant Mappin channel.
8. Workspace and Manager access
Access may be controlled through workspace IDs, approval codes, activation codes, installation identifiers and device or Manager roles. Users are responsible for safeguarding access codes and for authorising only trusted devices or Manager installations.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mappin is provided without a guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Mappin is not responsible for losses arising from incorrect user-entered data, failure to verify mapped information, loss of exported files, device failure or unauthorised disclosure caused by sharing access credentials.
10. Suspension or termination
Mappin may restrict access or suspend services where misuse, abuse, security risks or material violations of these Terms are identified, subject to applicable law and contractual commitments.
11. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. The current version will be published on this website.
