1. Overview
Mappin is an asset mapping, management and reporting platform. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Mappin Mobile, Mappin Manager and related Mappin services.
2. Information you provide
Depending on how Mappin is used, workspace content may include location coordinates, map pins, asset information, notes, photographs, audit information, operational records, workspace identifiers and other information entered or uploaded by users.
3. Device and service information
Mappin may process technical information needed to operate and support the platform, such as device or installation identifiers, app version, workspace role, sync state, timestamps and diagnostic information.
4. How information is used
- To provide mapping, workspace, sync, reporting and Manager functions.
- To maintain workspace access controls and authorised device relationships.
- To troubleshoot faults, investigate support requests and protect service integrity.
- To improve reliability and user experience.
5. Storage and synchronisation
Mappin stores project information on-device and may synchronise workspace information between authorised devices. Cloud-based services, including Firebase / Google Cloud services, may be used to store and synchronise workspace data.
6. Workspace ownership and user content
Users retain responsibility for the content they upload or capture. Workspace owners control who they authorise to access a workspace through supported Mappin access flows.
7. Photos and location information
Location and photos are used when a user chooses to capture mapped assets, evidence or related workspace information. Mappin does not use workspace content for third-party advertising.
8. Sharing
Mappin does not sell user workspace data. Information may be processed by service providers required to deliver hosting, synchronisation, mapping, diagnostics or other product functions, subject to those providers' applicable terms and privacy practices.
9. Security
Mappin uses access controls and workspace-specific authorisation mechanisms intended to limit access to authorised devices and Managers. No system can guarantee absolute security, and users should protect access codes, devices and exported files appropriately.
10. Data requests and deletion
For access, correction or deletion requests, see the Account & Data page or visit Mappin Support. We may need to verify that the requester is entitled to control the relevant workspace or data.
11. Children
Mappin is intended for professional and operational asset-management use and is not designed as a service directed to children.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Mappin changes. The current version will remain available on this website.
13. Contact
Privacy and support enquiries can be submitted through Mappin Support.
